The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.

But this year, as protests across the Middle East have actually pushed up the price of oil, the issue of sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.

In an area that has among the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one company is benefiting from the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
